Scottish Community Development Centre is a small charity recognised as the national lead body for community development in Scotland. They contacted us to design the Building Stronger Communities resource.
Design Brief
Building Stronger Communities is a practical assessment and planning tool for community capacity building in Scotland. The brief was to design an A4 training booklet with 8 separate A3 removable sheets that contained information tables. These needed to be easily identified and also to be photocopied. the design had to be clear and production user friendly.
What We Did
We came up with the idea of a combination of booklet and folder where the tables were inserted into the pocket at the back of the spiral bound booklet. Since the booklet was A4 we designed the tables so as they could be folded and have indicators on them as to which section they belonged. We also oversaw the print and delivery.
Outcome
The BSC resource is used by practitioners and planners working within a range of sectors to help make Scotland’s communities better places to live. It is relevant to community planning, health, regeneration, Community Learning & Development and the voluntary and community sector.
